Planning your wedding can be darn right frightening, but if you stay calm, and keep organized, it doesn’t have to be the most difficult thing you have ever encountered.
Here are tips to help make planning your big day less stressful:
Make sure that your wedding ceremony and reception reflect your personality as a couple. Far too many weddings appear to be straight out of the box. You don’t have to have a big theme wedding, but it’s good to try to incorporate your interests into both the ceremony and wedding reception.
Definitely budget with a great deal of care and review all costs many times over and including all who are involved in paying for the nuptials. The wedding industry is out to make a profit, and you can easily be tempted into spending lots of unnecessary cash on items you don’t need or you can get less expensively elsewhere. To avoid budget nightmares, create a budget plan in advance and stick to it. Shop around and find out where the various items you’ll need for your wedding ceremony and reception can be found most affordably.
Remember that the ceremony is the truly focus of everything. Too many couples forget that the ceremony is the important part of your nuptials as they are so uptight and anxious they just want it over. The wedding reception is the celebration afterwards. Don’t be too stressed out about having a big, fancy reception happen if you don’t feel up to it. Make sure that you’ve put the most thought into the music, the readings, and the wedding vows at the ceremony. These are the critical point on which to focus.
Make alternative plans. If you’re going to have an outdoor wedding, for instance, it’s critical that you have an additional location planned should the skies open up and rain. Make sure that someone else you trust has a list of the phone numbers and wedding vendors you’re working with in case something doesn’t show up on time. You don’t need to be worrying about your wedding day and trying to get the bouquets delivered too.
Involve your husband to be. The bride shouldn't have to plan the wedding alone. A marriage is a partnership, so start it out as one by planning the majority of the wedding together. That way, your groom won’t feel left out of his own wedding ceremony. Take time to talk about all the details and each of your preferences, and compromise if they’re very different.
There are many checklist books available including budget suggestions and online wedding vendors. One of these books is an excellent investment as a starting point.
