A lot of people ask me how to breakdance. The windmill is one of the basic power moves in breakdancing. It is much more difficult than it looks, and may take several months to master. However, the windmill is probably one of the most recognized breakdance moves and will definitely turn some heads on the dance floor!

1. The first step to learning the windmill is to learn how to collapse properly. This enables a smooth transition into the windmill. Get in a pushup position. Split your right leg as far to your right as possible. Your right elbow should be straight and below the right portion of your abs.

2. Now you want to "stab" your right elbow into the right portion of your arms. Then lift your left leg up in the air, and swing your right leg through. If you performed this correctly, it should not hurt and you should now be on your upper back. Remember, all of this needs to be smooth.

3. Here comes the tricky part. Now, you want to swing your left leg back as far as you can and then swing it up. Once you swing that left leg up, you should "stab" your right elbow into the right side of your abs again. If you performed this correctly, you should now be in the beginning start position. 4. If you returned to the beginning position successfully, just collapse again to get continuous windmills. Strong kicks and correct form will aid in the mastery of the windmill.
